Tabu Cult is a streetwear brand that originated in Portugal.
It began in 2020, as a fictional brand made up for a fashion school project, creating oversized pieces with no gender distinction. As there were not many accessible fabric suppliers back then, the pieces were created by upcycling second-hand clothes, like jeans, twill pants, and vintage leather pieces. And then the beauty of upcycling was discovered!
We realized that every piece of clothing could be unique. The marks of use and other details from pre-existing pieces are not flaws, but rather interesting features that add more visual value.
And 6 years later, we still haven’t changed our minds!
